Welcome Winter!!

I have been waiting for the weather to get colder :o) However wonky it may sound but business has been terribly slow during summer. I think everybody just automatically switches into summer mode when the daylight saving ends!! So they are probably not thinking of quilts and all the cold days with it!! But now my big welcome to the colder weather.

I am so excited about the Christmas Fairs I am going to this season!!
Nov 7 - NCT Christmas Fair in Beckenham
Nov 14 - Greenwich Fair
Dec 5 and 6 - Sutton House christmas fair

So working hard to stock up!!!!

Quilts Showcase

I was trying to figure out how to have all my work available for viewing even after I had sold the quilts. And then eureka!! I remembered flickr. I have now successfully uploaded all my quilt photos on to flickr so that they are available for viewing to anyone who is interested. I hope this works out to be a successful marketing tool!!!

Handm@ade Cambridge Fair

Handm@de Cambridge Fair took place on a fantastic Saturday (April 4) in the Cambridge Guildhall. And what fantastic display of art and creativity. Jewellery, collectibles, textiles, ceramics and a great display of colours. It was great to be a part of it - fantastic experience. With my lovely friend Manasi Kashyap (http://yarnahoy.blogspot.com) keeping me company, we even got to catch up on the gossip!! Well - I suppose I have to talk about whether I made any money at the fair :o) - YES YES I DID - it was very satisfying to meet two customers who bought my quilts as gifts.

Setting up Shop

I have finally started trading at the Greenwich market. Fantastic time if the weather is warm and sunny!! Otherwise the draft makes you wish you were anywhere else but there!! I'm beginning to understand that sales might actually depend upon where you set up shop. And its very irritating when people just walk past simply because your shop is tucked into a corner. But all in all a good experience!! I am still figuring out how best to display the quilts - right now the shop looks a little bare. Any suggestions?

Black and White Windmills

Things definitely started getting better with practice. This is one of the latest creations - credit for which largely rests with my mom (I HAVE to add that I was the design inspiration :o))

The whites are recycled pieces from a cloth store - hope my cousin, who is currently using this bedspread to envelope his 6 foot frame in, does not take offence to this tidbit of information.
